Imaging at IMSMP
IMSMP offers our patients the convenience of an MRI Suite certified by American College of Radiology.
Our state-of-the-art MRI wing includes two Siemens 3-TESLA scanners that offer excellent image quality, superb diagnostic capabilities, and exceptional patient comfort. This allows our patients to arrive at the IMSMP, complete their scheduled MRI, and then be escorted to their office visit. Your doctor will be able to immediately read and review your MRI.
If additional imaging is needed after an office visit, patients also have the opportunity to have their MRI performed immediately on-site. The MRI Suite is open six days a week, with flexible times for scheduling.
FAQ
How often do I need an MRI?
It varies! The standard frequency is once per year. If a patient is on Tysabri, we complete an MRI every 6 months -- and other patients' doctors may request more frequent MRIs too depending on their symptoms. If you're not sure about the timing of your next MRI, ask your doctor.
Will I receive a copy of my results?
Yes. We provide a CD of the images at the time of service, and we can e-mail or physically mail once the interpreted report upon completion.
Does insurance cover my MRI?
Maybe. Many but not all MRIs are fully covered by insurance, so please provide us with up-to-date insurance information. Our billing department will check your benefits and determine what is covered.
I use a wheelchair or other assistive device. WIll your machines accommodate me?
Yes! We can accommodate patients with wheelchairs and any other assistive devices.
